Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Mavis Road (RR#18)
Improvements from Steeles Avenue to Highway 407

The Study
The Regional Municipality of Peel has initiated a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment for improvements on Mavis Road (Regional Road 18) from south of Steeles Avenue to the west bound on-ramp of Hwy 407. The approximate limits of the project area are shown on the map.

The Process
The study is being conducted in accordance with the requirements for a Schedule “C” project as described in the Municipal Engineers Association’s Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) document (October 2000, as amended in 2007). The Class EA process will include public review and agency consultation, an evaluation of road improvements alternatives, an assessment of the potential environmental effects of the proposed improvements and identification of reasonable measures to mitigate any adverse impacts that may result.

Public Information Centre
Public consultation is vital to this study. We want to ensure that all stakeholders with an interest in this study have the opportunity to get involved and provide input. As part of this study, two Public Information Centers (PICs) will be held, with the first PIC scheduled for:

The PIC will consist of an informal drop-in centre with display information on the study findings to date including the problem statement, planning alternatives and evaluation of the planning alternatives. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the project team, ask questions and provide comments. Anyone with an interest in the study is invited to attend and participate.
