NOTICE OF CONSTRUCTION
HERRIDGE NORTH RESERVOIR AND OLD PUMPING STATION DEMOLITION PROJECT

In August 2008, the Region of Peel completed a Class Environmental Assessment Study for the replacement of the existing 13ML north reservoir with a 15ML reservoir, as well as the replacement of its outdated high voltage service with a new substation at the Herridge Pumping Station and Reservoir facility. This facility is located at 2200 Sheridan Park Dr. in the City of Mississauga (Ward 2), just west of the Erin Mills Parkway and north of the QEW. The Herridge North Reservoir and Old Pumping Station Demolition Project is one of the activities identified in the Study.

The Consultant, R.J. Burnside & Associates Limited has been engaged by the Region to undertake design, tendering and contract administration services for the project. The construction activities will be carried out by the contractor, Aim Waste Management Inc. This notice outlines proposed demolition construction activities and timelines.

General Description

The works primarily involve the following activities:

• The installation of security fencing around the perimeter of the work area;
• The removal and disposal of mechanical, electrical and process equipment within the old pumping station;
• Disconnection and capping of several underground services connected to or adjacent to the structures to be demolished;
• Demolition of the north reservoir (13ML) and old pumping station (abandoned);
• Construction of a temporary closure wall at the existing tunnel separating the old pumping station from the existing pumping station.

Anticipated Construction Schedule

The project is scheduled to commence in February 2009 and is expected to be completed by April 2009. The dewatering of the site will continue on an as needed basis until August 2009.
