NOTICE OF STUDY COMMENCEMENT
Municipal Class Environmental Assessment for a 600 MM Diameter Watermain Across Three Tributaries of the West Humber River Along Countryside Drive

The Study

The Regional Municipality of Peel is initiating a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) to construct a 600 mm diameter watermain across three tributaries of the West Humber River along Countryside Drive in Brampton. This work is being done as part of the proposed 600 mm diameter watermain construction along Countryside Drive from Dixie Road to Airport Road. A comprehensive and environmentally sound planning process that incorporates public consultation and involves a wide variety of stakeholders is required. The Study Areas are shown on the plan provided below.

The Process

This Study is being conducted in accordance with Schedule 'B' of the Municipal Engineers Association (MEA) Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (2000, amended October 2007). The Class EA process includes public and review agency consultation, a screening of alternatives, an assessment of the impacts of the preferred solution and identification of measures to mitigate any adverse impacts.

Upon completion of this study, a Project File documenting the process will be submitted to the Ministry of the Environment (MOE) and will be available for public review for a period of 30 calendar days.

Public consultation is vital to this Study. We want to ensure that anyone with an interest in this Study has the opportunity to get involved and provide input before any decisions are made on the preferred solution.
