NOTICE OF STUDY COMPLETION
Municipal Class Environmental Assessment
for Cpr Interceptor Sanitary Sewer

Notice of Study Completation The Process

The Region of Peel has retained Hatch Mott MacDonald to undertake a Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) for the proposed rehabilitation of the CPR Interceptor Trunk Sanitary Sewer in the Little Etobicoke Creek. The Region has planned this project under Schedule ‘B’ of the Municipal Engineers Association (MEA) Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (2000, as amended in 2007).  A public information centre was held on Nov. 19, 2008 to present the study findings including identification of alternative solutions.

The Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) determined that the preferred solution is Enhanced Selective Works including localized treatments to protect the manholes and exposed sanitary sewer encasements from channel processes. This solution also helps mitigate fish passage impediments caused by the exposed encasement on the channel bed.
