Committee (Court) of Revision
Regarding local improvement charges for specific sanitary sewer
works constructed in the City of Brampton, Ward 10 and
the City of Mississauga, Wards 2 and 7.
On Thursday, June 18, 2009, the Regional Municipality of Peel will hold a public meeting to consult with the public and hear representations regarding the intention to impose a special charge for local improvement works on specific properties in the City of Mississauga, Wards 2 and 7. The Committee (Court) of Revision is being held pursuant to the Region of Peel Public Notice Policy and Ontario Regulation 119-03, Local Improvement Charges – Priority Lien Status, under the Municipal Act, 2001.
All affected property owners wishing to make a representation are invited to attend the Committee (Court) of Revision. The meeting is to be held as follows:

If the matter is considered at a subsequent meeting of Council, no additional notice will be given unless Council directs otherwise.
Requests for information (which include the cost per metre frontage, the cost of the works, and the proportion of the costs to be borne by the Region and the affected property owners) may be directed to Christopher Howard, Manager, Operational Policy and Program Planning, Environment, Transportation and Planning Services, 10 Peel Centre Drive, 4th Floor or at 905-791-7800, Ext. 4455.
Copies of the report and resolutions approved by Regional Council regarding the works will be available upon request, at no cost to any member of the public. Copies of the agenda will be available as of Monday, June 15, 2009, during regular business hours from the Office of the Regional Clerk at 905-791-7800, Ext. 4502, or on the Region of Peel website www.peelregion.ca.
In accordance with section 20(5), Ontario Regulation 119-03, “Any person who owns a lot to be specially charged may object to a special charge by filing an objection, setting out the objection and the reasons in support of it, with the Clerk of the municipality not later than seven days before the day set for the hearing.” Affected parties wishing to make representations to the Committee (Court) of Revision are requested to file their objection at least seven days in advance (Thursday, June 11, 2009 prior to 4:30 p.m.) by contacting the Office of the Regional Clerk at 905-791-7800, ext 4502 or via email: ZZG-RegionalClerk@peelregion.ca.
The purpose of the Committee (Court) of Revision sitting is to hear complaints against the proposed special charge, or the accuracy of frontage measurements and any other complaint that persons interested may desire to make and that is by law recognized by the Committee (Court), with respect to the following constructed works:
Sanitary Sewers:
- Local Improvement Sanitary Sewer on Tortoise Court, Project 04-2720 – City of Brampton, Ward 10 (from house numbered 2 Tortoise Court to house numbered 28 Tortoise Court).
- Local Improvement Sanitary Sewer on Camilla Place, Project 04-2715 – City of Mississauga, Ward 7 (from house numbered 128 Camilla Place to house numbered 146 Camilla Place)
- Local Improvement Sanitary Sewer on South Sheridan Way, Project 04-2705 – City of Mississauga, Ward 2 (from house numbered 1800 South Sheridan Way to house numbered 1820 South Sheridan Way).
Notice of this Committee (Court) of Revision sitting has been sent by first class mail to all owners of properties to be specifically charged for the above noted works. Inquiries regarding property assessment may be directed to the Environment, Transportation and Planning Services at 905-791-7800, Ext. 3053.
