Notice of Study Commencement
Regional Municipality of Peel
Main Street/Bristol Road Watermain Replacement Credit River Crossing
Municipal Class Environmental Assessment
The Study
As part of its Capital Infrastructure Renewal Water/Wastewater Program, the Regional Municipality of Peel (the Region) has identified the need to replace an existing 400 mm diameter watermain along the south side of Main Street/Bristol Road in the City of Mississauga. Through its consultant AECOM Canada Ltd., the Region has initiated a Class Environmental Assessment Study to assess Credit River crossing options for the proposed replacement of the watermain along Main Street/Bristol Road from Durie Road to Church Street (see map).
The Process
The study is being conducted in accordance with the approved requirements for a Schedule “B” project as described in the Municipal Engineers Association’s Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) document(October 2000, as amended in 2007). The Class EA process will include public review and agency consultation, an evaluation of alternatives, an assessment of the potential environmental effects of the proposed improvements, and identification of reasonable measures to mitigate any adverse impacts that may result. Upon completion of the study, a Project File Report will be prepared.
