Notice of Second Public Information Centre
Municipal Class Environmental Assessment for Lornewood Creek Sanitary Sewer From the Intersection of Streambank Drive and Saginaw Crescent to the Intersection of Queen Street West and Ibar Way, South of Cnr Tracks

The Study
A recent inspection of the Lornewood Creek Sanitary Sewer identified a need for possible relocation and/or remedial work. The Regional Municipality of Peel has retained Associated Engineering (Ont.) Ltd. to undertake a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) to evaluate alternatives and identify the preferred solution to the Lornewood Creek Sanitary Sewer Improvements in the City of Mississauga. The study area is presented on the map.

The Process
This Study is being conducted in accordance with the requirements for Schedule ‘C’ projects as described in the Municipal Engineers Association Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (October 2007) document. The Class EA process includes public and review agency consultation, evaluation of alternatives, assessment of the impacts of any proposed undertakings, and identification of reasonable measures to mitigate any adverse impacts. Upon completion of this study, an Environmental Study Report will be placed on the public record.

Public Information Centre
Public consultation is important to this Study. This is the second Public Information Centre (PIC#2) and is a follow up from PIC #1, which was held on May 7, 2008. Since the initial PIC, the project team has further evaluated the preferred concept with regard to the terrestrial and aquatic environment, the social impact, the stream dynamics and the practicality of construction and will now present alternative designs for public discussion. The second PIC is scheduled for:

Date: Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009
Time: 5:30 pm – 8 p.m.
Venue: St. Stephen’s-on-the-Hill United Church
998 Indian Rd., Mississauga, ON L5H 1R5

The PIC will consist of an informal drop-in centre with display information on the study findings to date. Those attending will have an opportunity to meet the Project Team, review the study scope, and discuss the issues related to the project. Public input and comments are invited for incorporation into the planning and design of this project.

If you are unable to attend the PIC but have comments or questions regarding the project, please contact either of the Project Team members below:
