NOTICE OF STUDY COMPLETION
Municipal Class Environmental Assessment for a
600 Mm Diameter Watermain Across Three Tributaries
of the West Humber River Along Countryside Drive

The Regional Municipality of Peel has completed a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) to construct a 600 mm diameter watermain across three tributaries of the West Humber River along Countryside Drive in Brampton. This work is being done as part of the proposed 600 mm diameter watermain construction along Countryside Drive from Dixie Road to Airport Road.

Retail Business Holidays Act Tourism Exemption By-Law

This Class EA has confirmed that the proposed 600 mm diameter watermain can be constructed across the three tributaries of the West Humber River.

The Region has planned this project under Schedule ‘B’ of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Municipal Engineers Association, 2007).

A Project File Report has been prepared to document the planning and decision making processes involved. By this Notice, the report is being placed on the public record for a 30-day review period in accordance with the requirements of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment. Subject to necessary approvals, the Region intends to proceed with the construction of this project in 2009.

Please provide written comments to Mr. Lyle LeDrew at the Region by Friday, Oct. 30, 2009. During this 30-day review period, if concerns regarding this project cannot be resolved in discussion with the Region, a person or party may request that the Minister of the Environment make an order for the project to comply with Part II of the Environmental Assessment Act (referred to as a Part II Order), which addresses individual environmental assessments. Requests must be received by the Minister at the address below by Friday, Oct. 30, 2009. A copy of this request must also be sent to Mr. Lyle LeDrew at the Region. If no request is received by Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, the Region will proceed with the construction of this project as outlined in the Project File Report.
