PUBLIC NOTICE
Notice of Intention to Pass a Local Improvement Charges By-Law

Take notice that the Region of Peel intends to pass a local improvement charges by-law to construct a sanitary sewer as a local improvement on municipal lands on Portway Avenue, from 2150 to 2219 Portway Avenue, including Atrium Court, in the City of Mississauga.

The proposed by-law will be considered by Regional Council on:

The following information regarding the work is provided in accordance with Ontario Regulation
586/06, Local improvement Charges - Priority Lien Status, filed under the Municipal
Act, 2001::

Estimated cost of the work: $420,000
Estimated lifetime of the work: 80 years
Estimated special charges per metre of frontage for lots liable to be specially charged: $800.00 per metre plus a mandatory connection fee of $3,700 per lot
When the special charges shall be paid: Upon substantial completion of the project, the Local Improvement Roll will be certified by the Treasurer and a by-law will be appoved by Regional Council to imposethe special charge. The Region of Peel will then send an invoice. Property owners
will be invoiced annually and may either pay the special charge outstanding in full, or pay an annual amount based on the special charge being amortized over 15 years. If an annual payment is not made, the annual amount will be added to the tax roll account for the property.
Approval, recommendation, or sufficient petition to undertake the work: A petition has been received by the Region of Peel from property owners of affected lots to undertake the work, which was certified by the Regional Clerk as sufficient in accordance with section 10 of O. Reg.586/06.
