Notice of Public Meeting
Retail Business Holidays Act Tourism Exemption By-law

TAKE NOTICE THAT the Council of the Regional Municipality of Peel will hold a Public Meeting on December 13, 2012 to consider an application by Bramalea City Centre Equities Inc. and Morguard Corporation to add Family Day to the existing area basis tourism exemption under the Retail Business Holidays Act for the Bramalea City Centre in the City of Brampton. The application is to amend existing By-law 97-2011. The exemption would permit retail businesses, both within and adjacent to Bramalea City Centre, to remain open voluntarily between 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Family Day.

The subject lands are generally located in the area bounded by Peel Centre Drive, Queen Street East, Dixie Road and Team Canada Drive as shown on the accompanying map.

Regional By-law
A copy of the proposed by-law, an explanation of the purpose and effect of the proposed by-law describing the retail business establishments to which the proposed by-law would apply and a key map showing the location of the lands to which the proposed by-law would apply are available from the Office of the Regional Clerk and also online at www.peelregion.ca.

Any person may attend this public meeting or make written or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to the proposed by-law. Any person may submit their written representation to the Regional Clerk by email at council@peelregion.ca or by fax at 905-791-1693 before December 5, 2012 to have the presentation available to Council. Any person wanting to make a verbal representation is requested to contact the Regional Clerk before December 5, 2012 to be placed on the agenda.
