In July, 2012, the Regional Municipality of Peel (Peel) completed the Highway 50 & Mayfield Road Improvements Class Environmental Assessment (EA) Study. The purpose of the study was to investigate potential roadway improvements to Highway 50 from Castlemore Road/Rutherford Road to Mayfield Road/Albion-Vaughan Road, and Mayfield Road from Highway 50 to Coleraine Drive. The Class EA for this project was conducted as a Schedule C undertaking in accordance with the Municipal Engineers Association (MEA) Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (October 2000, as amended in 2007 and 2011), as approved under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act (the EA Act). The Environmental Study Report (ESR) documenting the planning and consultation process and the preferred design was filed in July, 2012.
In response to the availability of new information regarding the Coleraine Drive/Major MacKenzie Drive and Highway 50 intersection, Peel has prepared this Addendum to the Highway 50 & Mayfield Road Improvements Environmental Study Report for changes to the intersection configuration and related property requirements. This Addendum documents the proposed change, the rationale and implications of the change, and a summary of the consultation with stakeholders. Please note that only the changes proposed in the Addendum are open for review.
The Addendum is being placed on the public record for review in accordance with the requirements of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment and is available for review at the following location:
