The Region of Peel invites you to a Public Information Centre (PIC) to learn more about the Dixie Road reconfiguration and new bicycle lanes - south of Rometown Drive to Lakeshore Road.
As part of the ongoing Hanlan Water Project, the Region of Peel plans to resurface Dixie Road within the project limits in 2016. This provides an opportunity to modify the lane configuration on this section of Dixie Road to improve safety for all users. The proposed reconfiguration would convert the existing four general-purpose lanes to two lanes plus a centre left-turn lane, with dedicated bicycle lanes and more buffer space between pedestrians and motor vehicles on both sides of the road. A Public Information Centre is planned to provide background information and seek feedback on the following:
- Existing conditions along the corridor
- Proposed improvements
- Benefits to all road users
- Traffic analysis
- Project implementation
