Notice of Study Commencement Watermain on McVean Drive (Castlemore Road to Countryside Drive)

Study Background

The Region of Peel have initiated a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment study (Class EA) to examine the need for a watermain on McVean Drive from Castlemore Road to Countryside Drive in Brampton to meet the preferred water servicing strategy identified in the Water and Wastewater Master Plan for the Lake Based Systems. The figure shows the proposed watermain (light grey shading) and the existing watermain (dashed line).

The 2013 Water and Wastewater Master Plan for the Lake Based Systems identified the distribution watermain on McVean Drive from Castlemore Road to Mayfield Road as part of the preferred water servicing alternative. The City of Brampton completed the Class EA for McVean Drive road widening and improvements and is proceeding to detailed design and construction of the project.
