How to Become a Resident
All potential residents of Peel Youth Village (PYV) complete a five-step process:
Step 1:
A community organization faxes a completed PYV Client Application Form (101KB, 11 pages) to PYV for the youth applicant.
- Step 2:
PYV intake/assessment workers screen for program elegibility and suitability during a meeting at PYV, held within five business days.
- Step 3:
At the follow-up meeting, the applicant will be informed of his/her application status.
- Step 4:
Successful applicants become residents. A 30-day orientation takes place, during which residents and staff begin goal setting and creating a plan of action.
- Step 5:
After the 30-day orientation, staff and residents consider if a commitment to programming and planning can be made. If a commitment is made, the individual becomes a resident of PYV.
