Outreach
Peel's mobile Outreach Team was developed in 1999 to address gaps in social supports within and between sectors. It is a collaborative effort between the Region of Peel's Department of Human Services and Health in partnership with the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) /Peel Branch, Peel Addiction Assessment and Referral Centre (PAARC), and St. Leonard's Place Peel.
The team includes:
- Mental Health Support Staff
- Substance Use Harm Reduction Staff
- Family Transitional Outreach Staff
- Public Health Nurse
- Ontario Works in Peel Caseworkers
Experienced professionals provide supportive and caring assistance with:
- Health care
- Food, clothing, blankets, and supports
- Mental Health and Addiction supports
- "Street Counselling" - assessment and referral
Referral and advocacy is available for:
- Housing
- Emergency shelter
- Medical care
- Employment
- Mental health supports
- Substance use supports
