PEEL HONOURS PARAMEDICS AT 2007 ANNUAL APPRECIATION AND AWARDS CELEBRATION
On May 23, Peel Regional Paramedics celebrated their profession and outstanding achievements at the 2007 Paramedic Appreciation and Awards Celebration. Awards were presented in areas such as leadership, education, community involvement and long term service.
Regional Councillors John Sanderson and Elaine Moore were on hand to present awards as was Dr. Sheldon Cheskes from Peel Base Hospital and other Regional staff.
Peel residents Marjorie and Randy Schaefer personally thanked Peel Regional Paramedics Marcy Addley and Adam Cirone for saving Randy’s life when he went into cardiac arrest at a local hockey game last year.
“Paramedics are the backbone of our service” says Peter Dundas, Director of Peel Regional Paramedic Services. “Whether on the road or in the hospital, Paramedics are there every day saving lives and making a positive difference in Peel.”
“It is wonderful that Peel Region takes the opportunity to acknowledge the hard work of these talented individuals,” says Randy Diceman, Public Awareness and Prevention Officer.
