Paramedic Stations
Peel paramedics are currently sent out into the community from 12 paramedic stations located throughout Brampton, Caledon and Mississauga.
At peak times, 43 ambulances are in service to care for approximately 1.1 million people and cover 1,225 square kilometres. In addition to the 43 frontline ambulances, Peel Regional Paramedic Services has 9 Supervisor First Response Vehicles, 2 Emergency Support Units and 2 Support Services Units.
Respecting Your Community
We take great care to locate and design our stations to fit within the community. We consider a lot of factors including:
- Assessing the impact of the facility on local streets, traffic, and safety
- Minimizing noise impacts and negative sightlines to our neighbours
- Researching the architecture, history and styles of homes
Ultimately, we design our facilities so that you continue to enjoy your neighbourhood as much as possible. As we build new paramedic stations, we’ll be holding some public information nights so you can see what we’re planning and tell us what you think. 25 New Stations by 2017
The 25 new paramedic stations we’re building in locations throughout Peel will help:
- Paramedics get to you faster in an emergency.
- Meet the growing health-care needs of the Peel community.
- Make more effective and efficient use of the service’s resources.
- Provide a healthier workplace for our paramedics.
Our stations are being built using environmentally responsible and energy efficient features to help the Region reduce its carbon footprint and expenses related to building maintenance.
Saving Taxpayer Dollars
We’re working with the Cities of Brampton and Mississauga and Town of Caledon to save taxpayer dollars by:
- sharing sites with other emergency services wherever possible,
- including environmentally responsible and energy efficient features and
- using provincial and federal funding when possible.
2 types of stations
- Reporting stations are approximately 25,000 square feet and include training space. Their large size means more space to house the equipment and resources paramedics need to provide pre-hospital emergency care.
- Satellite stations are approximately 2,600 square feet. Their smaller size makes them easier to place in strategic locations within the community so paramedics can respond to emergencies faster.

Four of the 25 new stations will be reporting stations which will have training rooms for public and paramedic education.
