PRPS 2012 Recruitment for 2012
Here is a general outline for the Peel Regional Paramedic Services 2012 Recruitment process:
Job posting: A job posting will be available as of January 10, 2012 on Workopolis. In order to be considered a participant, a resume will need to be submitted, as per the details outlined in the job posting.
Physical testing:
A physical assessment will need to be completed by Sibley and only candidates with a successful physical assessment completed by Sibley will be eligible to accept employment.
A successfully completed Sibley assessment must be received by PRPS before March 26, 2012, and shall be issued no later than six months prior to this due date. If you are unsuccessful, PRPS reserves the right to withdraw your interview appointment.
Written exam: From January 10, 2012, once a resume and proof of an “F” License ownership is received, candidates may register online to participate in the PRPS written exam scheduled to take place on February 7, 2012.
Practical testing: Candidates who are successful in the written exam will be invited to move on to a full day of practical testing. A non-negotiable training date will be chosen for each candidate from February 21 to March 9, excluding weekends.
Interview process: Candidates who are successful in the practical testing will be invited to move on to the interview stage beginning at the end of March.
Driver testing: Candidates who are successful in the interview will be invited to participate in a practical driver test in mid April, 2012.
Reference checks: Reference checks will be conducted for all candidates successful in the driver testing phase of the PRPS recruitment process.
Job offers: Conditional job offers will be done via phone on April 23, 2012 and will be conditional upon submission of all required documentation during pre-orientation and successful completion of base hospital testing.
PRPS Pre-orientation and equipment review:Candidates who receive job offers will be required to attend a pre-orientation appointment on May 2 to 4, 2012 at which time they will be asked to bring all pertinent documentation, including the following medical form and application for employment form.
Base Hospital orientation: Candidates will be required to attend a mandatory Base Hospital orientation on May 1, 2012.
Base Hospital certification: All candidates who have submitted required documentation will be attending Base Hospital certification testing on May 7, 2012 and all job offers will be conditional upon successful completion of this testing.
PRPS Orientation and mentorship: All candidates who have successfully completed Base Hospital certification testing will begin a 5 week orientation session set to commence May 14, 2012 (and if required, a second group will train starting May 28, 2012). One hundred per cent attendance will be required during this period.
