Paramedics Demonstrate Life-Saving Skills to Children
Daniel Jason Passetchnyi was just one of over 1,000 children who participated in this year’s Teddy Bear Clinic on April 7 and 8. The annual event, hosted by Credit Valley Hospital, teaches children about the day-to-day work of healthcare professionals in a fun, friendly and open environment. Four of our paramedics - Najwa Colangelo, Jill Bailey, Nevada Munro and Verena Jones spoke to the children about paramedicine and demonstrated life-saving skills on a stuffed toy that children brought with them to the clinic. All of the participants learned about the paramedic role and many of them asked questions, shared personal stories and were enthusiastic about having their stuffed toys be a part of the demonstration.
