Sirens for Life
This year’s Sirens for Life campaign is in full swing.
Canadian Blood Services is partnering with Mississauga/Brampton Fire, Peel Police and Peel Regional Paramedic Services to take part in this annual blood donor challenge.
Last year, emergency services personnel raised over 1000 units of blood. This year’s goal is 1100 units. At present, only 3.5% of Canadians who are eligible to give blood actually do.
Jeff Walsh, Paramedic Supervisor, has been donating blood since he was a young boy and has already given his arm up for this life-saving challenge.
“Giving blood is a little extra I can do away from work and still feel like I am contributing to the Peel community,” says Supervisor Walsh.
The challenge is to achieve the 1100 unit target by September 4th, 2006. Regional staff, families and friends are encouraged to donate blood to help Peel Paramedics attain even higher results this year!
Sign-in sheets will be at all Blood Donor clinics until September 4th to track the number of donations to support Peel Paramedics.
