Summary of Emergency Protective Services Committee (EPSC) Meeting
On February 22, the Region’s Emergency Protective Services Committee met and received a report titled Evaluation and Recommendations for Capital Planning and Development of the Peel Regional Paramedic Service, Feasibility Study (PDF 850KB, 14 pages).
Meeting attendees included members of EPSC; Regional Chair Emil Kolb; Chief Administrative Officer David Szwarc; Kent Gillespie, Commissioner of Corporate Services and Regional Solicitor; Director of Paramedic and Emergency Services Peter Dundas; members of the Region’s Executive Management Team; and representatives from Peel Regional Paramedic Services, Peel Regional Police and Brampton, Mississauga and Caledon Fire and Emergency Services.
A modified version of the Feb. 16 stakeholder presentation (PDF 132KB, 23 pages) was given, after which there was a feedback and question-answer period. A number of issues and considerations were raised, including the need for short-term and long-term solutions to meet present and future needs of Peel residents and an emphasis on the importance of collaboration in seeking solutions.
All stakeholders will be kept involved and informed on key information and study dates throughout the Feasibility process.

An update on the Feasibility Project will be presented at the General Committee Meeting of Regional Council on March 1.
