Seven Paramedics Receive Governor General’s Exemplary Service Medal for EMS

Chief Peter Dundas recognized Dan Martin, Bill Bernath, Tracy Renaud, Carol Murray, Steven Sutton, Verena Jones and Jeremy Asselbergs in front of Council today. These men and women have given more than 20 years of exemplary service in EMS, where at least 10 of those years were spent on the front lines, potentially putting their lives at risk while on duty. Dan Martin received his medal posthumously. “At 46 years old, Dan contributed so much to this service and the profession,” said Chief Peter Dundas. “Dan’s imprint on the service will never be forgotten.”
