How to make First Aid and Preparedness Kits

Safety is important, so to ensure that you are not caught unprepared in an emergency; here are some handy suggestions for putting together your own personal, portable Preparedness Kit.

Child’s Day Pack

  • Whistle – to use in case of emergency
  • Water Bottle and Snacks (energy bar)
  • Child Safe Insect Repellent
  • Sun Block
  • Sunglasses
  • Flashlight
  • Personal First Aid Kit
  • Poncho
  • Space Blanket

Personal First Aid Kit

  • 12-20 Band-Aids
  • 2 Butterfly finger dressing
  • 2 Rolled gauze bandages
  • 1-2 Large Pressure Dressings
  • 1-2 Small Pressure Dressings
  • 1-2 Triangular Bandages
  • 6 Gauze Pads (10cmx10cm)
  • 3 Sets of disposable rubber/latex gloves
  • 1 Instant hot/cold pack
  • 1 Tensor Bandage
  • Waterproof adhesive tape (2.5cm x 2.5cm)
