Planning Services: An Overview

Planning Services oversees how the Region of Peel’s land and resources are used.

We manage growth to improve life in Peel by:

  • Reviewing plans for the use of land and resources.
  • Researching — then studying — the trends, issues and opportunities that affect land use in Peel.
  • Putting policies — such as the Regional Official Plan — in place.
  • Creates and updates transportation policies, plans, designs, programs, budgets and improvement priorities.
  • Mapping places in Peel using Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
  • Teaching Peel’s citizens through events such as GIS Day and the Peel Children's Water Festival.
