Wondering what you can do? While it may be not possible to affect all the variables that produce your footprint, you can easily change your behaviour. Here are some quick tips:
Food
- Buy locally grown and organic food
- Buy unpackaged and unprocessed foods
- Eat vegetarian meals more often
- Buy bulk food instead of packaged food

Transportation
- Drive your car less and carpool when possible
- If you drive, choose a fuel efficient vehicle
- Use public transit, bike or walk whenever possible
- Drive slower to conserve fuel (traveling at 90 kilometres per hour uses 10 per cent less energy than 100 kilometres per hour)

Housing
- Hang your clothes to dry and limit the number of loads that go into the drier
- Reduce the number of days you use the air conditioner
- Practice water and energy conservation
- Use motion sensor lights outside instead of leaving lights on
