Managing Growth
Managing Growth is a key component of the Peel ROP Review because work in this area overlaps other composition areas of the Peel ROP Review. Work in this area stems largely from the requirements of the Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe.
Initiatives of Managing Growth include:
- consultation with area municipalities to allocate population and employment growth forecasts at the municipal level to meet the Provincial intensification target of 40% of all new residential development (within the built boundary) by 2015 and how this can be maintained to 2031.
Residents are also invited to comment on Managing Growth Background Paper (PDF 475 KB, 11 pages) or on any other challenges that Peel faces in this area. Comments received will be taken into consideration as the Region reviews and updates the Managing Growth focus area of the Peel Region Official Plan.
