Rockfort Quarry Status Updates
Peer review reports form the basis for discussions amongst experts in identifying issues to be addressed at the Ontario Municipal Board hearing. Copies of peer reviews of the Region of Peel can be found below. Regional Council resolved in 2003 to oppose the Rockfort Quarry Application on the basis of inadequate information provided by the applicant. The Ontario Municipal Board hearing was scheduled to start in 2004, however, the hearing was delayed pending further environmental study required by the new Caledon Official Plan policies.
In early 2008, a process was outlined to review the updated Rockfort Quarry Application. The Ontario Municipal Board (OMB) Hearing schedule lays out key milestones summarized below:

The Rockfort Quarry Application Ontario Municipal Board Hearing commenced on September 15, 2009.
The Hearing is taking place in the Town of Caledon at:

6029 Old Church Rd.,
Caledon East
The Hearing is scheduled to run from September 2009 to February 2010, with the month of May tentatively being held should additional hearing time be required. |
