the Toronto area was consistently
less than the Canadian average.

Peel including affecting air quality
and associated health problems,
increasing the risk of the spread
of infectious diseases, and causing
more unpredictable and extreme
weather patterns, such as storms,
drought and heat.

Transboundary
Air Pollution is one of the
most significant contributors
to poor air quality in Peel. More
than half of pollutants that contribute
to smog problems originate in
the United States.

Electromagnetic
Fields and Cellular Phones:
To date, research on the potential
health effects of electro-magnetic
fields and cellular phones has
not been conclusive. As a precautionary
measure, Health Canada recommends
that cellular phone calls not
exceed 6 minutes.
