2006 Cordon Count Program

Hwy 410

Cordon Count data provides a valuable information source to predict future vehicle (passenger, truck and transit) trends. Peel Region, in coordination with other GTA municipalities and the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, conducted the 2006 Cordon Count Program in May and June. The 2006 program included 295 designated count stations, and coincided with the Census of Canada and the Transportation Tomorrow Survey.

The majority of stations were counted in May and June. However, due to construction on Mayfield Road, a number of stations were counted in September 2006. The count program took place between 5:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m., Mondays to Thursdays.
