Specific Emergency Situations - Hazardous Spills

If a hazardous spill occurs in your community, you may be asked to evacuate your neighbourhood or to shelter-in-place.

  • Listen for instructions from local emergency response officials.
  • Have your Personal / Family Emergency Kit and emergency contact lists prepared.

  • If you're in a vehicle
    • Avoid the area completely; drive upwind (in the opposite direction the wind is blowing.)
    • Listen to local radio stations for instructions and updates.
