Peel’s CEMC will:
- Activate the Emergency
Operations Centre (EOC).
- Make sure all members
of the EOC have the proper plans, supplies, and
equipment.
- Provide advice
- Advise and clarify
details of the emergency plan.
- Supervise the telecommunications
coordinator.
- Handle any issues that
arise as a result of the Emergency Response Plan
being activated.
- Maintain records of decisions
and actions taken.
- Communicate with area municipalities and province
Peel’s Paramedics will:
- Treat injured people.
- Transport injured people
to hospitals.
- Provide primary/advanced patient assessment.
Municipal Firefighters will:
- Suppress and contain fires.
- Assist in evacuations.
- Rescue people and animals.
- Deal with hazardous materials,
if necessary.
Peel’s Police Officers will:
- Set and look after inner
and outer perimeters.
- Maintain public safety.
- Help evacuate
people.
- Investigate possible crimes.
- Control traffic.
- Provide mounted and canine
services, if necessary.
Peel’s Public Health employees will:
- Coordinate local Public Health response during emergencies.
- Ensure effective Public Health response to disease outbreaks and pandemic influenza.
- Monitor water supplies and issue boiled water advisories when appropriate.
- Coordinate local health response on water and air quality issues.
- Maintain food premises inspections and monitor food service in evacuation facilities.
Peel’s ETPS employees will:
- Protect sewers and watercourses.
- Handle dyking operations.
- Manage spill control
supply inventory.
- Provide road closure
signs and barricades.
- Provide solid waste disposal
facilities.
- Provide temporary washroom
facilities.
- Manage private contractors’ site
cleanups and contaminant disposal activities.
Peel's Human Services employees will:
- Assess the need for a reception centre/evacuation centre for displaced individuals.
- Provide for emergency food, shelter and medication.
- Provide for financial assistance.
- Provide "in situ" care for individuals isolated within their homes.
- Collaborate with the local CEMCs and Regional partners for a coordinated response.
