Traffic and Parking Control
The works will be phased so as to minimize disruption to traffic while still maintaining a safe working environment as required under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
During this period, temporary lane closures will be in effect in portions of the construction area.
Once work is completed, the roadway will be completely restored to permit traffic. In this manner the loss of traffic lanes will be minimized throughout the construction period.
Full pedestrian access will be maintained at all times to residential homes on all streets. If you have particular needs, please contact us ahead of time and we will attempt to accommodate them.
During construction, your driveway access may be temporarily blocked. We will contact you prior to crossing your driveway to arrange for the best time and for alternate access, if required. Additional signs will be placed if alternate routes are required.
Water Supply and Interruptions
Should construction require an interruption of your water supply we will contact you prior to interrupting your water supply to arrange for the best time. However, if an emergency shut down of the water supply is required due to unforeseen circumstances, we will make every attempt to minimize the inconvenience of the water shut down.
Sod Restoration And Maintenance
The contractor will provide initial care for replacement sod with-in affected areas, for a period of thirty (30) days after placement to allow for the root penetration into the topsoil.
To ensure that the sod/seed stays healthy, particularly during hot and dry weather, watering the new sod/seed two to three times a week for one hour, during the early morning, will promote healthy and durable sod.
We thank you in advance for your assistance in helping to maintain the health and durability of the new sod/seed.
Please be aware that any maintenance repairs done during winter months will have final restoration scheduled for the following spring/summer season.
The Region of Peel is committed to keeping you informed and ensuring that the works are carried out with minimum disruption to your homes and businesses. If there are any substantial changes in the project scope or schedule, you will be provided with project updates. We also encourage you to notify the appropriate contact person to advise them of any problems or particular needs. We thank you in advance for your co-operation.
