Construction in Peel: Brampton

North And South Claireville Bridge Rehabilitation And Steeles Avenue Realignment At Highway 50

We have finished the work. The project is under warranty until October 2018.

Project Description

The Region of Peel will be undertaking the rehabilitation of North and South Claireville Bridges and associated alignment changes to Steeles Avenue at Highway 50 in the City of Brampton. See area map (PDF, 83KB).

Schedule

The work is scheduled to commence on or after April 11th, 2016 and we anticipate the completion of major construction activities by September 2016.

Traffic Operations

The works will be phased so as to minimize disruption to traffic while still maintaining a safe working environment as required under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

In order to provide safe working environment and to accommodate the required taper lengths and detour transitions within the limits of construction, the posted speed limit will be reduced to 60 km/h during the construction activities.

One lane of traffic in each direction on Steeles Avenue will be maintained at all times. All turning movements at Steeles Avenue and Highway 50 intersection will also be accommodated.

The Region of Peel is committed to keeping you informed and ensuring that the works are carried out with minimum disruption to residents and businesses.  If there are any substantial changes in the project scope or schedule, you will be provided with project updates.
