Public Works Construction

Construction in Peel: Caledon

Construction Work to Improve Water System
Project 09-1115

The Region of Peel will be increasing the water pressure in the area bounded by red on the attached map.

This work is to maintain, improve and plan for future growth of existing water services as part of the Region’s service commitment to provide safe, clean drinking water.

What does this mean for you?

  • Your water pressure will increase at some point during the day of August 10, 2017 and you will see a difference in the water flowing from your taps.
  • With the lower pressure, you may not have been able to use low-flow fixtures. With increased pressure, you will find low-flow fixtures will save both water and money.
  • If your plumbing was correctly constructed and inspected and is in good condition, you should have no concerns.
  • If your plumbing is not in good condition, you may notice:
    • Banging or noisy water pipes when turning faucets on or off
    • Spitting from the water faucet aerator when water is turned on
    • Leaking faucets or running toilets
  • If you have any concerns about your plumbing, we recommend you call a licensed plumber.
  • You are responsible for the water pipes and plumbing fixtures on your property and for keeping your plumbing in good condition.
  • If this pressure increase may affect an alarm or maintenance company, it is your responsibility to notify them.
  • We should not have to interrupt your water supply, but if we have to shut off your water because of an emergency, we will do everything we can to fix the problem as quickly as possible.

Should you have any questions or concerns about this work, please do not hesitate to contact the project manager listed below or our Public Works Customer Service Center (24 Hours) at
