Construction in Peel: Caledon

Structures Rehabilitation for Queen Street Bridge and Caledon Creek Culvert

We have finished the work. The project is under warranty until December 2017.

Project Description

The Region of Peel will be carrying out a bridge rehabilitation of the Queen Street Bridge located along Queen Street east of Main Street and rehabilitation of the Caledon Creek Culvert located along Charleston Sideroad east of Willoughby Road. Construction site map.

The work at Queen Street Bridge will require concrete bridge deck repair, new waterproofing and asphalt. The work at Caledon Creek will require concrete repair and replacement of abutment protection.

Schedule

Construction is scheduled to start July 2015 and we anticipate completion of the works by December 2015, weather permitting.

Working Hours

The contractor’s normal working hours are from 7:00am to 5:00pm.

TRAFFIC CONTROL

Every effort will be made to minimize disruption to traffic, maintain access to businesses and residential areas while still maintaining a safe working environment as required under the Occupational Health and Safety Act. The work will require a lane closure during construction. Traffic will be directed using portable traffic control signals and occasional traffic control person flagging during construction.

Driveway and Sideroad Access

It is anticipated that driveway and/or sideroad access will be maintained during construction. If any access needs to be temporarily blocked, residents and/or businesses will be contacted to arrange for the best time suitable to undertake the required construction.

Project Updates

The Region of Peel is committed to keeping you informed and ensuring that the work is carried out with minimum disruption. If there are any substantial changes in the project scope or schedule, you will be provided with project updates. We also encourage you to notify the appropriate contact person to advise them of any problems or particular needs.
