Construction in Peel: Caledon

Road Resurfacing King Street Town of Caledon
Project #16-4635

We have finished the work. The project is under warranty until October 2018.

What are we doing?

  • Replacing all existing asphalt on King Street from west of Deer Valley Drive to west of Humber Lea Road.
  • Removing interlocking and replacing with concrete sidewalk.
  • Upgrading street lighting and crosswalks at the intersection of King Street and Queen Street.
  • Installing infrastructure for a future signalized pedestrian crossing near the Post Office.
  • Shifting and delineating the parking area in front of the Post Office for increased safety.

What have we completed?

  • Repairing storm culvert under King Street East, east of Queen Street.
  • Replacing a short section of Sanitary Sewer on Queen Street north of King Street.

Where?

  • King Street from west of Deer Valley Drive to west of Humber Lea Road.

When?

  • Start: April 2016.
  • Finish: September 2016, weather permitting

Working Hours

  • Our contractor’s normal working hours are from 7a.m. to 7p.m.
  • Some paving works, in the vicinity of King Street and Queen Street intersection and King Street and Deer Valley Drive intersection, will be done at night from 7p.m. to 7a.m.
  • We understand this may cause some inconvenience, but a shorter working day would mean the project would take longer to complete.

Traffic Control

  • Road closures will be required.
  • Ontario Provincial Police will be present during lane closures at all intersections to direct traffic safely.
  • Emergency access will be maintained at all times.
  • Barriers and signs will be placed for safety and direction, as required under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Driveway Access

  • If we need to block your driveway you will be contacted for alternate access.
  • We will make sure businesses have access at all times.
  • Please call the Project Manager if you have special needs related to access or business hours.

  • We are committed to ensuring minimum disruption to your homes and businesses.
