Construction in Peel: Mississauga

Sanitary Sewer Replacement on Various Streets

Project 11-2335

We have finished the work. The project is under warranty until December 2017.

Project Description

The Region of Peel will be replacing the existing sanitary sewers on various streets in Mississauga in order to improve the existing services in the area.

The works include replacement of existing sanitary sewer on Paisley Boulevard East, Hampton Crescent and sanitary sewer repair on Lakeshore Road West in Mississauga. (attached map)

Schedule

Construction of the sanitary sewer on Hampton Crescent is scheduled to commence on or about November 20, 2014, weather permitting. We anticipate completing the works in the spring of 2015. Restorations works including sod reinstatement will be completed by the end of June 2015.

Contact Persons

The works will be performed by D’Orazio Infrastructure Group Limited under contract to the Region of Peel. The contact persons and phone numbers are listed below:

Traffic and Parking Control

The works will be phased so as to minimize disruption to traffic while still maintaining a safe working environment as required under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Please be advised that affected streets will be subject to temporary lane closures in portions of the construction area, commencing at 7:00 a.m. on or about November 20, 2014, weather permitting.

Once work is completed, the roadway will be completely restored to permit traffic. In this manner the loss of traffic lanes will be minimized throughout the construction period.

Full pedestrian access will be maintained at all times to residential homes on all streets. If you have particular needs, please contact us ahead of time and we will attempt to accommodate them.

Driveway Access

During construction, your driveway access may be temporarily blocked. We will contact you prior to crossing your driveway to arrange for the best time and for alternate access, if required. Additional signs will be placed if alternate routes are required.

Sod Restoration and Maintenance

The contractor will take care of any sod we replace for 30 days. You can help the sod to stay healthy by watering it for one hour in the early morning, two or three times a week. This is especially important in hot or dry weather. We will replace your sod as soon as we can, but there may be a short delay.

Please notify us if you have underground irrigation or a sprinkler system outside your property line. You may wish to move the sprinkler lines to inside your private property to avoid damage.

Vibrations

The construction work may generate slight vibrations which may be felt in your home. As a precaution, you may consider removing or securing small, light or fragile objects from shelving and walls during the construction period.

Project Updates

The Region of Peel will always let you know if there are any major changes to the plans. We will try to disturb you as little as possible. Please call the project manager or inspector if you have any problems or special needs.

We thank you in advance for your co-operation.
