Airport Road Storm Sewer
From The International Centre to Derry Road East
Project 15-4021

What are we doing?

  • Installing a new 1200mm storm sewer by microtunnelling;
  • Works including site preparation, median removal, earth excavation, and traffic staging;
  • Restoration including granular placement, paving, curb and gutter, and minor related works.

Where?

On Airport Road from Derry Road East to approximately 400m south, as shown on the area map (PDF).

When?

Start: Spring 2017
Finish: Fall 2017, weather permitting.

Working Hours

  • Our contractor's normal working hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. however some phases of the work will be completed at night time.
  • We understand this may cause some inconvenience, but a shorter working day would mean the project would take longer to complete.

Traffic and Parking Control

  • The works will be staged to minimize disruption to traffic and businesses.
  • We will need to reduce traffic to two northbound and southbound lanes and undertake temporary lane shifts for various stages of the work to isolate the work zone.
  • Temporary lane closures will be required during non-peak hours.
  • Emergency access will be maintained at all times.
  • Barriers and signs will be placed for safety and direction, as required under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Driveway Access

  • We anticipate that driveway access will be maintained in so far as possible during the construction.
  • We will make sure businesses have access at all times.
  • Please call the Project Manager if you have special needs related to access or business hours.

  • The Region of Peel will keep you informed of any substantial changes in the project scope or schedule.
  • We are committed to ensuring minimum disruption to your homes and businesses.
