Construction in Peel: Mississauga

Project update #6: Major Paving Operations - Dundas to Royal Windsor

Please be advised that Gazzola Paving is scheduled to continue Paving Operations on Winston Churchill Boulevard, between Dundas Street West and Royal Windsor Drive, in both directions on Wednesday, September 7, 2016, weather permitting. The work will include placement of new top asphalt and permanent line painting.

Please note that no work is being proposed at Dundas Street West and Winston Churchill Boulevard Intersection, QEW Interchange and/or QEW on/off ramps by the Region of Peel.

Below is the proposed schedule:

September 7 – 8 DAY (07:00AM to 7:00PM) Southbound direction, followed by Northbound direction North of Sherwood Heights Drive to North of Royal Windsor Drive TOP ASPHALT
September 9 – 10 DAY (07:00AM to 7:00PM) Southbound direction, followed by Northbound direction South of Dundas Street West to North of Sheridan Park Drive TOP ASPHALT
September 12 – 14 NIGHT (7:00PM to 07:00AM) Southbound direction, followed by Northbound direction North of Sheridan Park Drive to South of North Sheridan Way TOP ASPHALT
September 16 – 17 NIGHT (7:00PM to 07:00AM) Southbound, Northbound, Eastbound and Westbound Royal Windsor Drive Intersection FULL DEPTH MILLING/TOP ASPHALT
September 17 DAY (07:00AM to 7:00PM) Southbound, Northbound, Eastbound and Westbound Royal Windsor Drive Intersection FULL DEPTH MILLING/TOP ASPHALT
September 17 – 18 NIGHT (7:00PM to 07:00AM) Southbound, Northbound, Eastbound and Westbound Royal Windsor Drive Intersection FULL DEPTH MILLING/TOP ASPHALT
September 18 DAY (07:00AM to 7:00PM) Southbound, Northbound, Eastbound and Westbound Royal Windsor Drive Intersection FULL DEPTH MILLING/TOP ASPHALT

The following sequence of events will occur on site:

Southbound Direction:

  • All Northbound direction traffic will be reduced to a single Northbound slow/curb lane;
  • All existing Southbound lanes will be temporarily closed;
  • Traffic in the Southbound direction will be transferred at the Intersections via a single lane (median cross-over);
  • All temporary Southbound direction traffic will be reduced and put into a single existing Northbound fast lane (on the East side of the centre of the road);
  • Existing right/left turning lanes at intersections will be maintained where possible; temporary intersection closures are expected during both day/night operations;
  • Pay Duty Peel Regional Police Officers will be on site to assist with traffic control and emergency vehicles at all intersections;

Northbound Direction:

  • All Southbound direction traffic will be reduced to a single Southbound slow/curb lane;
  • All existing Northbound lanes will be temporarily closed;
  • Traffic in the Northbound direction will be transferred at the Intersections via a single lane (median cross-over);
  • All temporary Northbound direction traffic will be reduced and put into a single existing Southbound fast lane (on the West side of the centre of the road);
  • Existing right/left turning lanes at intersections will be maintained where possible; temporary intersection closures are expected during both day/night operations;
