Music, public speaking, storytelling, drama and hands-on, in-the-field, and nature studies were all ways of sharing at this year’s EcoFair. Several of these schools were coming together again after having met and started their action projects at the beginning of the school year, at the EcoBuzz Conference.
Emphasis this year was to provide the participants with the rare opportunity to appreciate and experience forest and wetland ecosystems. There were enthusiastic reviews about the shelter building, nature walk, and aquatic ecosystems study at the 2008 EcoFair, thanks to staff from the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority and the City of Brampton.

Additionally, many of the professional Mentors at this year’s event will keep in touch with their partner teachers into the next academic school year in order to provide support on sustaining schools’ stewardship projects.
EcoFair 2008 came to a close with the key note speaker, Scott Debassige, who as cultural storyteller, talked about the relationship between our natural and human ecosystems.
