Group / Individual Responsibilities
Adoption Option #1: People Power - Supplying Volunteers
If you or your organization provides the volunteer manpower (minimum age of 12) to pick up litter from an 'adopted' section of road, there are no fees or charges to you or your group. The Region of Peel provides:
- Training.
- Two sponsorship signs with your name or logo - one at each end of the adopted section.
- Safety vests, gloves, bags, roadside signage, etc.
- Garbage bag pick-up from designated locations.
Adoption Option #2: Financial Sponsorship Opportunities - Advertise Your Organization
Because the Region of Peel includes both an urban and rural mix of Regional roads located throughout the Cities of Mississauga and Brampton and the Town of Caledon, the ADOPT-A-ROAD in Peel program can offer two financial sponsorship opportunities:
Rural Road Section
By sponsoring $300 per kilometre, per year, you or your
group can adopt a rural section of a Regional roadway.
Urban Roads Section
By sponsoring $1,500 per kilometre, per year, you or your
group can adopt an urban section of a Regional roadway.
With both opportunities, the Region of Peel provides:
- Two sponsorship signs with your name and logo - one at each end of the adopted section.
- Litter collection (minimum two times per year).
- Lawn mowing services (approximately two to seven times per year).
