Environmental Assessment

The Gore Road (Regional Road 8) from Castlemore Road to 1000 Metres North of Mayfield Road

The Regional Municipality of Peel is initiating a Class Environmental Assessment of The Gore Road from Castlemore Road to 1000 meters north of Mayfield Road, in the City of Brampton and Town of Caledon. The Gore Road, a major north-south arterial road, is experiencing increasing traffic pressure. As a result, improvements have been recommended which could include a combination of road widening, intersection improvements, horizontal and vertical re-alignment, rehabilitation, replacement or expansion of various watercourse crossing structures.

This notice signals the commencement of the Class Environmental Assessment - a study which will define the problem, consider and evaluate alternative solutions and design concepts, and present the evaluation process to interested or affected individuals and agencies at Public Information Centres (PICs). The study will be conducted in accordance with a Schedule C project as described in the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment, by the Municipal Engineers Association, June 2000.
