Environmental Assessment

Winston Churchill Boulevard – North and South of Ballinafad Road / 32 Side Road

The Regional Municipality of Peel, along with County of Wellington has initiatied a Class Environmental Assessment Study of Winston Churchill Boulevard from 1200 m south of Ballinafad Road/32 Side Road to 300 m north of Ballinafad Road/32 Side Road, including the intersection of Winston Churchill Boulevard and Ballinafad Road/32 Side Road in the Towns of Caledon, Halton Hills and Erin. The Study is required to address potential improvements to Winston Churchill Boulevard.

The study is being carried out in accordance with Schedule ‘C’ of the Municipal Engineers Association (MEA) Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (2000). The Study will review the need and justification for possible improvements to the existing corridor and alternatives to the undertaking, including an evaluation of impacts on the natural and social environment.

This notice signals the commencement of the Class Environmental Assessment - a study which will define the problem, consider and evaluate alternative solutions and design concepts, and present the evaluation process to interested or affected individuals and agencies at Public Information Centres (PICs). The study will be conducted in accordance with a Schedule C project as described in the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment, by the Municipal Engineers Association, June 2000.
