Vehicle Information
All permits must include every vehicle that will be utilized for the move(s). However, annual permits may be updated throughout the year if the applicant purchases a new vehicle or has sold a pre-existing one. The applicant is responsible to notify the Permits Analyst of any changes so a revised permit can be issued.
Information required for each vehicle includes the year, make, license and VIN number (Vehicle Identification Number). A detailed spreadsheet must be provided.
Insurance
The insurance coverage required for obtaining an Excess Load Moving Permit is as follows:
Automobile Liability: $3,000,000.00
General Liability: $2,000,000.00
The Region of Peel and other area municipalities affected by the move must be named on the insurance certificate as additional insured. NOTE: A Region of Peel insurance certificate must be used.
Prior to expiration, the applicant is responsible to forward an updated insurance certificate.
Signatures Required
The permit is circulated electronically to the applicable municipality and police service for authorization. Once authorization is completed, a signature by the applicant is required. Payment must be received before the permit is released.
