What is the Algonquin Power Liaison Committee?

  • The committee includes volunteers from Brampton, Mississauga and Caledon, representatives from Algonquin Power and staff from the Region of Peel (Region) and the Ministry of the Environment (MOE).
  • Co-chaired by Jayne Pilot, Certified Environmental Auditor (CEA), President of Pilot Performance Resource Management Inc. and Clive Ford, Past Commissioner of Brampton Hydro.
  • Since 1992, the Liaison Committee meets regularly during the year, to discuss plant performance, annual compliance testing, new technologies and potential concerns.

What is the purpose of the Committee?

  • The Liaison Committee educates Peel residents about the facility and its operations.
  • The Liaison Committee provides feedback from the residents to Algonquin Power and staff from the Region and MOE.
  • Reviews reports from the facility, Region and the MOE.
