Large Metal Appliances and Large Metal Fixtures

Curbside Pick-up (Fee) | Free Drop-off

Please note: Effective June 1, 2011, Brampton and Mississauga residents who receive regular curbside waste collection on Mondays and Wednesdays will have their white goods picked up on Wednesdays, and residents who receive curbside waste collection on Tuesdays and Thursdays will have their white goods picked up on Thursdays. Caledon pick-up is every other Tuesday.

These items are collected from the curb by appointment only.

To Order a Curb-side Pick-up

Residents are required to pay $15 for the first item and $10 for each additional item collected on the same day.

Book online, or call the Region at 905-791-9499 (Caledon 905-584-2216) to schedule an appointment for pickup.

To cancel an appointment, call 905-791-9499 (Caledon 905-584-2216) before 2 p.m. on the business day prior to your scheduled collection.

Payment can be made by:

  • Cheques payable to the Region of Peel are accepted at Brampton and Mississauga City Halls and at the Caledon Town Hall

  • Credit card over the phone or Online

  • Debit card, cash or cheque at Access Peel, located at 10 Peel Centre Dr. Suite B, in Brampton

Note: Please allow a minimum of seven days for pick-up. Place items out for collection before 7 a.m. on your scheduled day and not before 7 p.m. the night before.

Remove Doors From AppliancesIMPORTANT - Remove appliance doors and place beside the appliance. Appliances may not be collected if doors are not removed. Taping or tying the door shut is not an acceptable alternative to removing the door.

Appliances must be empty of all food and waste or they will not be collected.

Drop off your item(s) for FREE

Large metal appliances and large metal fixtures can be dropped off free of charge at Peel's Community Recycling Centres.

Additionally, the Ontario Power Authority (OPA) is collecting old refrigerators and freezers throughout Peel Region through the Great Refrigerator Roundup program. The pick-up is free, and they will even haul it out of your home for you.

  • Dehumidifiers
  • Dishwashers
  • Empty hot water tanks
  • Empty heating oil tanks (cut in half)
  • Freezers
  • Furnaces
  • Heat pumps/exchangers
  • Metal fireplaces
  • Metal bath tubs
  • Metal shower enclosures
  • Pool heaters/pumps/metal filters
  • Refrigerators
  • Stoves
  • Washers and dryers
  • Water coolers
