Yard Waste Collection Program

One Time Yard Waste Collection – Week of Jan. 14

Region of Peel residents are advised that yard waste will be collected during the week of Jan. 14 on their regular waste collection day.

Due to the long fall season last year, some residents were left with excess yard waste when yard waste collection services ended in November. Since the Region’s yard waste collection vehicles will be collecting Christmas trees during the week of Jan. 14, residents can use this one-time opportunity to set out yard waste.

Residents are asked to place their yard waste in acceptable yard waste containers. Those putting their tree at the curb for collection should place their yard waste containers next to their tree.

Follow these steps when putting yard waste at the curb for collection:

  • Place yard waste in open top, rigid, reusable containers; bushel baskets; or paper yard waste bags.
  • Set out yard waste and recyclable material on the opposite side of the driveway from garbage, if possible.
  • Tie brush securely in bundles up to 1.2 m (4 ft.) in length and 76 cm (30 in.) in width, weighing no more than 20 kg (44 lbs.).

Residents may also drop off their yard waste at a Peel Community Recycling Centre all year. Regular drop-off fees will apply.
