About Tap Water in Peel

Distribution of water

The Region of Peel is responsible for moving water from the treatment facility to the taps in your home. This is done through a series of reservoirs (big holding tanks) and underground pipes and pumping stations that help pump the water through the pipes and into your home.

There are over 4,400 kilometres of water pipes running throughout Peel. Some of these are as big as 8 feet in diameter which means that you could easily stand up inside the pipe!
