  • Remove any candles or leftover wax from the inside of the pumpkin. Put the leftover wax in the garbage.
  • Chop up the pumpkin and drop the pieces in your organics kitchen container. Or place the whole pumpkin directly into your green cart.

Option 2: Yard waste

  • Remove any candles or leftover wax from the inside of the pumpkin. Put the leftover wax in the garbage.
  • Place the whole pumpkin in a Kraft paper yard waste bag, bushel basket, or a labelled, open, rigid container along with other yard waste.
  • Make sure the paper bag, bushel basket, or container doesn’t weigh more than 20 kg (44 lbs) before you set it out.
  • Put the bag, basket, or container on the curb on your regular yard waste collection day. Be sure to check your collection calendar before setting out your yard waste.

Option 3: Backyard composter

  • Place your whole pumpkin or pumpkin pieces into your backyard composter.
