How to Sort Your Waste

What Do I Do With...?

Gift Boxes:
Flatten small cardboard boxes and place in your recycling cart or in clear or blue transparent recycling bags. Examples include cereal boxes, tissue boxes, kraft paper lunch and grocery bags, potato bags (remove the mesh window and place that in garbage) or cardboard fruit baskets (remove plastic handle and place it loose into your recycling). Tied bundles of flattened corrugated cardboard boxes can be placed on the ground adjacent to a recycling cart or recycling bag but must be cut down to a size that is capable of fitting into your recycling cart so that the collector can reload the cart for collection. Alternatively, cut and flattened cardboard can be delivered to a Community Recycling Centre CRC for free drop off.
